hey there, is there anyway i can set my computer, so it can't recognize a link if i visit it, then go back, and it says that it's not visited. there is nothing i hate more, than it saying, visited link, visited link. if only i could stop it

What screen reader are you using?

If you're using JAWS, probably depending on the version you're using, you can set it to make a sound instead of the words. But if there's a way to just turn it off, then I don't know.

Visited links are also there because of the history, so why not set your history to 0 days? and just fix it that way?

Yes, you can do that. Go under internet options. To fix it in JAWS, go into the verbosity settings.

Maybe there's something I'm missing, but I don't see a visited links option in my verbosity settings.

Frankly, I like using the visited links to move about the screen quickly.

However, you could probably do something really weird like going into your dictionary and changing the word "visited" to spaces. But, I'm sure there is a better way to do it in jaws, but, until you figure that out, I'd take blackbird's advice and just trim your history down to 0 days.

Sorry, Bob, I am a wineyes user, but I have used JAWS and thought it would be there.

No problem kennynaranjo. I thought it should be there too, but I didn't see it when I looked.

BTW, can you control the speaking of visited links in win eyes?

Bob
